Nintendo is doing things a little differently this year with E3, as it's introducing a few new policies and other events aimed at keeping things more organized and exciting for fans.
One of the most interesting additions is the fact that fans will need to sign up for reserved play slots ahead of time in order to try Super Smash Bros. for Switch during the show, which runs from June 12 through June 14. The signups are mandatory if you want to participate during E3 while the demo is available on the show floor, and you can opt for a ticket for "fun" to play against others casually or for "glory" in a competitive elimination match.
If you register for E3 2018 by May 31, you'll get a special email from the organizers of E3 on June 4 with details about how you can reserve one electronic ticket to play the game, at which point you can choose what kind of ticket you want. There won't be any sort of on-site registration for you to grab a ticket then, so you'll have to do everything ahead of time if you want to be able to participate. You can work out the ticketing details from there once you're signed up, but it's imperative to do so if you want a look at the new Smash for Nintendo Switch at all.
Nintendo is also inviting players to bring their Switch consoles to the show, as if you're spotted with your Switch at the Nintendo booth or around E3, you could win an exclusive Nintendo Switch pin, while supplies last.
It looks like this year is going to be a very intriguing one for fans, especially with Nintendo reserving spots for players and rewarding those seen utilizing its products, so if you're planning on going be sure to reserve your space and rep Nintendo if you want to win some special goodies.
